I am currently managing the Social Media Team and the Design Team, with a combined total of 8 employee's. In this role I have been able to create two now strong and steady teams from scratch. Throughout the hiring process I was always focused on the end goal which was making sure I had a well rounded team with individuals who had their own unique qualities which would be complimentary together. Working with people has always been my strength and being in a managerial role has really allowed me to naturally develop my ability to be myself whilst leading others. Job satisfaction is really important to me and I am someone who is motivated by seeing how much my team have developed and evolved. I am someone who is extremely adaptable and these past years have shown that. I am very aware of my surroundings which enables me to spot trends and react to them appropriately. Managing a busy design room has taught me a lot about time and people management.• Creating concepts and storylines ahead of product launches for social media campaigns.• Working directly to the founding CEO & Creative Director.• Developing ways of working and implementing logical strategies.• Creating a positive, safe and collaborative working environment where everyone’s skills are recognised.• Thinking up engaging and fresh ways to promote new collections and organising the necessary shoots.• Providing relevant training sessions for each team member.• Advocating to create a more sustainable way of working.• Initiating and develop a more inclusive size range.• Managing various freelancers; setting briefs, giving feedback and organising invoices.• Using Trello as project management tool.• Event organising for London Fashion Week.• Organising, scheduling and leading team meetings. With a strong track record of pattern making and grading, I was brought in by into review and critique current working practices at Stolen Paradise and develop the new season. Stolen Paradise is Sri Lanka’s original surf lifestyle brand with three brick and mortar locations in Galle, Aragon Bay and Ella and a socially responsible factory in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. This allowed me to quickly redevelop processes concerning all aspects of garment design and product development at the factory. The recommended process changes were then fed back directly to the directors for the factory manager to implement. Part of this process involved exploring and trialing fabric options which were suitable for the brand and the climate. I recommended and advocated for sustainably sourced materials being used in all aspects of design and production. As the brand was launching a new e-commerce store, fit was crucial. I developed measurement and size charts to insure that sizing was consistent throughout the new season. Thus insuring that the return rate for products was kept low. • Fit & Spec • Pattern Maker • Standard spec development • Grading development • Master block pattern development • Technical team training Show less
