      Along with artist Paulo Wirz, Felix Toro conceptualized, organized, and executed the week-long series of lectures and workshops entitled "Art and the Museum-School". Talks by Felix Toro included lectures on Brazilian and Bahian Modernisms; and Other Functions for the Art Museum (case studies included the museum-school and the area museum). The lectures+workshops, led by Felix Toro and Paulo Wirz, took place from Oct. 3rd to 7th. Guests brought on by them included Marcelo Rezende (independent curator, and director of the Archiv der Avantgarden – Dresden), Ayrson Heráclito (artist, professor at UFRB, and Ogã of the Candomblé tradittion Jejê-Mahi – Salvador), and Julie Marmet (curator and activist for artists' remuneration, Espace 3353 – Geneva).       - Oversaw the funding of 52 cultural institutions throughout South and North America for the 2nd edition of the international relief fund Hilfsfonds.- Problem-solving based on each institution's local specificities, and in direct contact with them.- Helped the institutions implement their projects while also making sure that the requirements of the funding parties (Germany's Foreign Ministry and the Goethe Institut) were met.- Reviews and audits all of the institutions' accounting reports at the end of the funding period.- Responsibilities more than doubled in relation to the first edition, in the previous year (from 25 to 52 institutions overseen); became responsible also for North America; increased contact with headquarters in Germany; in a global project, became the regional coordinator responsible for the largest number of funded institutions.- Received positive feedbacks both from the partners who received the grants as well as from the grant organizers. In that context, worked closely in projects with many of the artist residents, including Rike Frank, Sigrid Gareis, David Cruz, Helen Sebidi, Adolphe Binder, and Susanna Gyulamiryan, amongst others. – Curatorial projects include: Garden of the Gallery (workshop and exhibition program); Can Ghosts Create Systems? (exhibition); 02 (exhibition), and; Indiano Carioca (exhibition co-curated with Ruth Noack and in partnership with Acervo da Laje, at Lina Bo Bardi’s abandoned building in Salvador, the Coaty) – Production work includes theater plays, music concerts, performances, and public discussions. Major projects include the Salvador edition of "Reinventing Smetak" (Ensemble Modern), in which Felix Toro was the central point of connection in collaborations between the Goethe Institut, the DAAD, the Federal University of Bahia, the State of Bahia, the City of Salvador, transportation companies, the Ensemble Modern, the Solar Ferrão Museum, the TCA theater, the composers, and others. – Managed institutional partnerships at local and international levels, spanning from established institutions to small artists’ collectives. - Worked with a vast array of artist residents, researched their works and found pertinent points of contact for them in Salvador. New workshops included artists who were exhibiting in the museum's galleries and staff of the museum taking on teaching roles. - New workshops also included new venues and institutional partnerships with other museums, schools, the city, individuals, and associations, including associations of persons with disabilities. - Researcher. As a result of a research project into the history of the museum itself and its workshop program, artists who had begun their careers in the museum's workshops were tracked down and invited back for public programs. - Worked very closely with production and communication teams, always facilitating their work and making sure new project ideas were viable from the start. Amongst these are: Oficina Cadastro (workshop); Mesas (exhibition/workshop/mediation program); Gardening Workshop (workshop); Jogo de Roda (educational material), and; Teacher's Manual (publication). - Was involved in the Biennial from the beginning, so the work wasn't just executing projects, but rather conceptualizing them, getting the necessary support, publicizing, and realizing them. - The 3rd Bahia Biennial built on Lina Bo Bardi's ideas of a Museum-School, and as such, the Education Department was one of the pillars and most active departments of the state-wide event. - Researcher.
