In my position as a customer service representative in the order department, I honed my multitasking skills while enhancing my abilities to efficiently work in a team. I answered heavy volume sales calls on switchboard, and screened and directed callers to interdepartmental personnel. I received requests from customers and their sales representatives, confirmed order details and processed them. I analyzed invoices for accuracy, recorded transactions on the Onyx system, and confirmed delivery… Show more In my position as a customer service representative in the order department, I honed my multitasking skills while enhancing my abilities to efficiently work in a team. The issue of illiteracy and general academic incomprehension has been a cause that is near and dear to my heart. After undergrad, I focused some of my time arming a few students with the skills needed to tackle any academic hurdles they faced. I met with students weekly to enhance literacy and comprehension skills, and held bi-weekly meetings with their parents/caregivers to discuss scholastic progression. On occasion, I evaluated and changed tutoring methods to maximize results. This led to increased grade performance and academic confidence, and increased parental involvement. As secretary for this project, I acted as a liaison between the delivery truck drivers, the Queens County Board of Elections and CitiStorage’s Operating Project and Site Managers. Often, I was the first person visitors encountered, so I greeted, welcomed and directed them appropriately, while maintaining the telecommunications and security systems. I also retained precise records of election machines, scanners, and privacy booth deliveries and retrievals for the 2012 Presidential Election. As an intern, I worked closely with the associate director and the department to complete various projects that were presented in team meetings and to the associate director directly. During my time at MediSys, I inventoried previous response efforts, researched scenarios of airport incident responses, drafted Tsunami disaster notes, and participated in several emergency responses and emergency management activities.
