Press & Communications Manager

Jan 2018 - Present
I started at BWHC as the Press & PR Specialist and was promoted to the position of Press & Communications Manager in 2021. I work closely with the fundraising team to project manage our main campaigns, events and appeals, including managing the budget, preparing key messages and evaluating our results. I lead on our external communications, including creating marketing materials for a range of touch points, communication to supporters, and our annual impact report. As the sole press officer for the charity, I ensure the charity appears in local media, including print, television and radio, by writing press releases, building contacts, arranging interviews, and training spokespeople to conduct interviews with the media, as well as internal briefings on key events. I manage two Digital Marketing & Communications Officers, demonstrating coaching, mentoring and leadership skills. I work closely with the team to update the charity’s digital channels, including e-comms, social media and website, and monitor the results. Show less
