The CAF oversees the extensive art collection (permanently installed) of work in every medium by artists who live, have lived or have worked in New Mexico at the NM State Capitol building. It is unique in the 50 states and grows each year. The collection is now valued at over $5.5 million. Mariposa Gallery is one of the first fine contemporary craft galleries in the United States. It provided (and still does) a venue for emerging artists and many established craft artists, many of whom began their careers by showing at Mariposa.
