  SHPEP is a six-week pre-health enrichment program hosted by the U.T. medical, dental, and nursing schools in Houston. I participated in simulation labs to practice suturing, intubation, and phlebotomy. I also learned anatomy during cadaver labs. Physician-led lectures and shadowing an internal medicine resident gave me a broad overview of many medical specialties. I also received supplemental information in financial literacy, leadership, and medical school applications.
