One of the qualities that I always remember about Farwa is her ability to make people feel like she cares about them. She provides excellent advice and guidance to newcomers looking to start or improve their career in Manitoba, and goes above and beyond to understand their strengths, interests, and areas that they could improve. While working at the Pre-Arrival Centre at Immigrant Centre Manitoba, some of my pre-arrival clients who were referred to the Employment Department upon arrival were helped by Farwa. Every single one of them followed up with me to let me know how much she had helped them. In all cases, their experience was similar - she listened to them, she understood them, she provided excellent guidance, she cared. Front-line staff in the settlement/newcomer sector are some of the first people that newcomers meet when they come to Canada. Here lies the importance of going above and beyond, and not only providing guidance and information, but also care, compassion, and honesty. Newcomers never forget those who helped them settle and integrate; a good career coach can make the difference between just finding a job, and creating a career path for themselves. And, in that sense, I am certain that my clients will never forget Farwa.

Farwa was the facilitator of a one-week Career Development Workshop I attended at Manitoba Start and I also participated in a LinkedIn Workshop she lead for the same institution. She is very good at explaining the content in a clear and precise way. Also provided very useful tips for career planning, job search, and LinkedIn profile optimization.
