       Contributes in the planning, direction, and technical expertise regarding computer, network, resources, and services for both LAN’s and WAN’s and the worldwide Internet.  Maintains the IP Core Systems and network per the company’s service level agreements and key performance indicators.  Manage the operations and maintenance of IP Core, IP/MPLS, ADSL (MSAN and ISAM), GPON, FTTH, WTTx and Wi-Fi Core Networks to ensure high availability.  Provides innovative, efficient and effective support services to internal and external stakeholders.  Carries out routine preventive maintenance on Core Network infrastructure as per plan and in-line with equipment supplier specifications.  Serves as a technical resource and technical escalation point in regards to the Company’s network, MIS staff and associated issues.  Develops and implements processes and procedures for the Core Network Section to ensure its smooth operation.  Administer the .ZW Countrywide Code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) and assign secondary functions to other secondary functions to ZISPA (.CO.ZW) and other international servers and make sure that whatever changes completed are relayed to secondary servers daily.  BGP peering with upstream providers, load balancing to ensure maximum throughput and high availability and automatic failover.  Securing network system by establishing and enforcing policies, and defining and monitoring access.  Analyse Data and Internet Network statistics to identify network bottlenecks and develop technical solutions to remove the bottlenecks.  Ensures the development and implementation of disaster recovery plans for Internet network elements in the country.  Provides Level 1 and Level 2 support for complex telecommunication network operations.  Provide resilience and failover testing to ensure all managed Infrastructure is tested and documented on a regular basis to ensure failover functions as designed and as predicable.  Show less
