The journey toward my doctoral degree has equipped me with excellent skills in addition to in-depth understanding of area of study. I conducted my research in accordance with health and safety procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and legislation such as the Human Tissue Act which enhanced my experience in complying with relevant research and ethics regulations.I coordinated several subprojects, which strengthened my project managements skills tremendously and led to the identification of potential new biomarkers for the (dys)function of brown adipocytes. Time management, planning project milestones, and budgeting of the research funds (my PhD grant ) were part of my responsibilities. I developed a high sense of responsibility and an independent working style.Due to my organisational skills; , such as planning, prioritising, critical thinking, decision making and fostering of collaborative work, I successfully completed projects within timelines. I also gained experienced in basic and advanced IT skills including the Microsoft Office 365 applications, and advanced analysis software (such as SPSS, Graphpad PRISM, research-specific bioinformatic online tools) during my PhD. Facilitation of undergraduate medical students within novel case-based learning sessions. Case-based learning (CBL) is a learner-centred, reflective practice of teaching for MB ChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) students which empowers them to bring their own skills and knowledge to the group to learn from one another. These focused on their professional development including integration and expansion of knowledge, as well as advancement in communication and team working skills. The facilitation is provided in small learning groups of around ten students.My role as a facilitator is to guide the group through the discussion, ensure they meet the learning objectives, and encourage their reflections on the learning process. My main duties as chronic prescription preparation administrator for all GlobeMed’s adherents in Syria, are giving approvals and denials to prescribed medications related to chronic diseases such as diabetic, osteoporosis, heart diseases and many others, based on insurance policy rules. My main duties as the only Syrian system administrator of GlobeMed pharma-system (adding, pricing, modifying) and expert system which requires entering medication’s data and linking them with insured adherents to decrease prior approval claims received to CSC to the minimum by automating approvals and denials.
