Sports Reporting Internship
-
Jan 2022 - Jun 2022
At this job I shadowed and learned from two phenomenal sports reporters/anchors for the first half of the internship, and in the second half I working on shooting, editing, and producing my own packages. I worked on skill like reading off the prompter to filming at all types of games and interviewing athletes and coaches alike at different levels. I learned a ton about this industry and gained a lot of knowledge before entering my last semester in college. Aug 2018 - May 2019
In this role I traveled to lots of high schools in the panhandle of Texas with a sports reporter and helped interview athletes and coaches. I primarily focused on football season and wrote stories weekly that were published, but I also covered all sports throughout my senior year of high school. I worked under a former sports broadcaster while at Amarillo Globe News, so I practiced lots of on-camera interviewing. This was the first internship/job I had in sports that propelled me to chase this entire career field. Show less
