As a Global Maybank Apprentice, I served as a management associate and gained exposure through various rotations across key business sectors and being actively involved in EXCO-driven projects. Key highlight of my experience was being a business case designer for the award-winning Maybank GO Ahead. Challenge 2017, an International Case Competition held in more than 12 countries across the bank's major core markets in order to recruit talent and enhance Maybank's employer branding. Being one of the largest business case competition in Asia, in 2017 we've successfully gathered 40,000 applications from over 100 nationalities and impacted the lives of many stakeholders, through providing a platform for young talents for employment opportunities, engaging NGOs and businesses, and delivering a 2-week simulation of real life business challenges. International Council of Malaysian Scholars and Associates (ICMS) is a council that manages a global network of aspirational Malaysians, passionate about leadership, intellectual, and career development across 6 chapters. With an established footprint in 6 countries, namely Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canada, United States and United Kingdom, ICMS serves to connect Malaysian students across the globe towards building opportunities and empowering leaders. As the External Outreach and Publicity Executive Director of the 5th Council (2015/2016), my roles included: • Managing social media accounts and crafting content in order to increase social media engagement • Planning and executing publicity campaigns in order to boost outreach for events and recruitment purposes • Working alongside a team of 6 national level executive directors situated in six different countries in order to strategize and execute plans to improve ICMS' brand presence to Malaysians across the globe • Built and maintained a good relationship with student organizations in both private and public universities in Malaysia, and forming affiliateship agreements where necessary • Contributed towards managing global associates across all six countries and assisted in managing the pool of talent and leveraging on skills of associates • Part of the Executive Committee that managed the expansion of the council from 3 chapters to 6 as well as corporate relations. Nottingham Charity Run 2015 (NCR) is an annual event organized by ACE Society of the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC). The event served with the purpose of raising funds and creating awareness for the disabled and mentally handicapped children in Malaysia. All proceeds were channeled towards financing purchases of physiotherapy equipment for the Handicapped and Mentally Disabled Children’s Association of Selangor. As Organizing Chairperson, some of my roles, responsibilities, and achievements included:• Raised a net profit of RM 33,083.85, which were channeled towards purchasing of physiotheraphy equipment.• Managed an organising committee of 50 people and over 100 volunteers to ensure smooth flow and management of events.• Organised fundraising activities to improve marketing of the event and raise funds for operational costs of the run.• Managed corporate relations and engagement with sponsors.• Managed relationship with beneficiary by having frequent visits and follow ups to ensure funds were channeled in the right direction and were executed timely.
