I've had the great pleasure to work with Fabian over the last 3 years. A lot of times when a project wasn't running so good, then Fabian came to the rescue to turn things around, and he always pushed the project in the right direction. He has a lot of knowledge and really knows how to support, motivate and get people together to make things a success. Besides the normal project work, he always put in a lot of effort and time to push the front-end community and the company forward as a whole. He always wrote a lot of best practices and guidelines to enforce standards on many topics. He helped organize many events and when he has the change he is always open to sharing his knowledge with other people. Over the years he's become an expert on several topics like accessibility, performance, etc. Especially regarding Performance he's has become an evangelist within the company. He presented multiple conference talks, improved the company standards, did case studies (performance audits) and collaborated with third parties to better support to customers. Fabian is an amazing colleague both inside and outside of work. You can always count on him. I always enjoyed when he shared his knowledge and ideas from a book, video, conference, article, etc. It's really cool how he pushes himself to be on top of things. I'm super grateful for all the things he has taught me!

Fabian is a dedicated and enthusiastic front-end developer. He is always willing to learn new stuff and share it with his colleagues. I have worked with him in several projects and it's always been a enriching experience.

I strongly believe that these eight things are mandatory to create a great user experience:1. You need an experienced interdisciplinary team which works closely together on all stages of the project.2. Start with analysis: Find out what the customer really needs. Not by guessing but backed up by real data.3. Define goals and principles: What gets measured gets managed. Make sure you have customer centric KPIs: tasks success rate and time to finish a task. This makes everybody focus on the user instead of satisfying internal stakeholders.4. Make decisions based on facts: Measure everything and make it transparent for the whole team: Have displays on your office walls showing what the users are doing on your site in real time.5. Content first: What content do you need to help the users to get there tasks done? Finalise the content before starting the design - otherwise, people focus on the design and keep telling you whether they like it or not. 6. Mobile first design: For more and more users the internet is their mobile phone.7. Build it resilient and accessible: Make it work without JS, make it accessible and enhance the experience based on client hints.8. Iterate: A website is not a project. It has to be monitored, measured and optimised. Show less
