I teach English as a second language to socially disadvantaged Brazilians in an 18-month course. They are candidates to become full scholars at Graded, the American School of São Paulo. I have been successfully doing this for numerous cohorts and my students have been well-integrated into the Graded community.

As part of my responsibilities, I successfully implemented the new format for the full scholarship program at Graded school to the larger community by building an effective recruiting system that finds talented candidates in a socially vulnerable context, provides them with an efficient English acquisition experience and promotes a smooth transition to one of the premier international schools in the world.Furthermore, I constantly liaise with alumni scholars in order to promote a successful, well-supported transition to college and follow up with the current scholars by counseling them and their families when necessary, as well as providing additional supporting services, such as therapy and various content areas tutor classes for scholars.My work also comprises inter-institutional relations with other companies, such as the Lemann Foundation, for instance. In that regard, I meet with their representatives, provide quality reports when necessary and consistently communicate with them about the scholarship program. This has effectively created a relationship of trustworthiness between Graded and other institutions. Finally, I have shared my expertise with many other schools in Brazil to support in the creation of their own scholarship programs.
