Under the supervision of Dr K. Bernot (INSA - ISC Rennes, FR) and Pr M. Mannini (LaMM, University of Firenze, ITA)This PhD thesis work aims the surface deposition of single-chain magnets (SCMs) by tuning the chemical functionalities of the radical ligands, and/or the surface of the substrate (silanization, hydrosylilation, gold-thiol interactions, click chemistry and so on). The surface deposition of such molecular magnetic compounds (with single-molecule magnets SMMs) could be of particular interest in the field of high-density magnetic data storage, spintronics and physics of interfaces.→ Organic and inorganic synthesis,→ Structural determinations: FT-IR, powder and single-crystal XRD (resolution and refinements with WinGX and SHELXL),→ Optical characterizations: UV-Visible (liquids and solids), luminescence,→ Morphological characterizations: EDS-SEM, SAXS, TDA, TGA and DSC analysis,→ Magnetic characterizations: autonomous use of SQUID (sample preparation, installation, measurements and interpretation of the collected datas)This work, among others from the group, led to the following publications. Academic Research Intern

Under the supervision of Dr N.Y.Doumon and Pr L.J.A Koster (P&O-E Group) This master thesis internship was focused on the study of the stability of ternary blends of organic solar cells (OSCs) with polymers as donors, and a mix of fullerene (70PCBM) with non-fulerene acceptors (ITIC or derivatives). For this purpose, conventional and inverted devices were prepared under controlled environment (clean room and gloveboxes), varying the ratios of the ternary blend. Full set of relevant characterizations were held before and after a 2- (or 4-) hour illumination under operating conditions (AM1.5G): → photovoltaic performances: J-V behavior (efficiency), EQE (conversion) and electrons-holes mobility (recombinaisons), → optical changes of the films: UV-Visible, photoluminescence, → morphological measurements: stylus profilometer, AFM, GIWAXS This work, among others from the group, led to the following publications.
