I supervised Ms. Cheung at Clarkstown South High School. Her lesson planning always imbued technology in ways that engage the learner throughout each class period. She understands the challenges involved in designing lessons using changes brought to us by the new NextGen Science Standards. This has entailed a great deal of collaboration between her and her colleagues, a pedagogical dialogue she has actively often led. Ms. Cheung is approachable, She is always looking for new ideas from colleagues and though her own research on best practices in instructional design and in teaching. She has experienced what does work effectively and has, therefore, improved the learning environment for those assigned to her. She has taught students with multiple academic needs and students in Honors classes who often are more motivated by their grades than by the intrinsic value of learning. She has achieved getting students of all types and learning styles to learn for the sake of learning and for the love of the subject matter. She will be of great benefit to any team of thinking professionals that invites her to join them.

I worked with Elizabeth for 3 years at NUHS in Brooklyn. When I joined the school I was a new teacher. As an established member of the Earth Science team she was a great collaborator and made me feel right at home. She taught me a lot about time management in planning/ classroom management and creating/modifying lessons during our team teaching sessions. When I encountered a road block I could count on her to help me or send me in the right direction. Even though we did not teach together I had the opportunity to observe her during peer observations. Her lessons were often engaging and student centered.
