Ewoudt is probably the best art director in the world. I only say probably because I haven’t met them all. I’ve worked with EB off and on for over a decade on projects big and small, client-based and personal. He’s a conceptual genius, an exquisite craftsman and a soulful maker with the heart of a poet and the eye of an eagle. As an added bonus, he’s also an incredible writer. It’s almost unfair.

      Back in Amsterdam me and my partner Zack McDonald were responsible for campaigns for Converse, Fox Sports, for winning the Carrera pitch and for Faded, a publication and exhibition about faded photographs in the Unfortunately Small Gallery. As a side project we created Innocent Targets, a series of shooting range poster targets, depicting innocent people, for The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.       My family exchanged rainy Amsterdam for rainy Portland so I could work on Nike, Target, Levi's and Old Spice. I made a text based game for James Bond and Sony, organised a Bring Your Own Beamer in The WK Gallery, directed films for Target with Adele and Bruno Mars for The Grammy's, plus I got to tell Dan Wieden how much I loved his Morris Blackmon work for Nike Jordan. There were highs and lows but all in all it was a fantastic to experience what it's like to start a new life in Portland, Oregon. Show less

      I oversaw global campaigns for 55DSL, J&B Whiskey and Protest Snowboarding, published Bad Food Gone Worse, a book about fast food photography and Anonymous, a collection of techniques people use to make themselves unrecognisable, directed films for VPRO television, Euro synth pop band Le Le and many commercials. All in all this period was good for about 200 grams worth of pages in the book A New Kilo of KesselsKramer, featuring all the work made by KK between 2005 and 2010.
