The Kids A Hoot focuses on the creation and production of situation comedies and dramatic comedies. Our first three productions: 1. My Life With Lukas (On Topanga Canyon Boulevard): The Photos - When Noah Whitmore’s 17-year-old cousin Lukas turned up on his doorstep one day, four years ago, it was a life-defining moment for both of them. As a single, thirty-something teacher with a personal life that was akin to a vacuum, Noah now found that he had someone in his life that needed direction and a father figure that would provide it. With neither of Lukas’ parents interested in having custody of him, it fell to Noah to be there when it was soccer practice, auditioning for the school play or when the chance of adventure in far-flung Switzerland beckoned. This bitter-sweet story of self-discovery, family and identity is told in My Life with Lukas (On Topanga Canyon Boulevard), through a series of 12 snapshots in time and is one that provides moments of reflective sadness, but also of an enduring hope that is always present when two kindred souls collide. The Photos (Published August 1, 2018) The Stories (Published February 1, 2019) Best Kid Ever (Published September 30, 2019) Tailspin (Publishes March 1, 2020) Figure It Out (Published August 31, 2020) Link: mylifewithlukas.com 2. TV Series: Best Kid Ever. Based on the book My Life With Lukas, Best Kid Ever tells the broader story of Noah and Lucas as they navigate their new definition of family in Topanga Canyon. 3. TV Pilot: Jacob and Jaden Unlock the World. When a formerly successful television writer and his adopted teenage nephew face one final adversity, they decide to hit the road to "unlock the world." Little do they know that by unlocking the world, they are unlocked the mystery behind the teen's mom's death. Show less
