To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to write a recommendation letter on the behalf of Dr Ewa Rajczak. Dr Ewa Rajczak has worked at the Department of Bioanalytical Chemistry since 2010, as a student at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. She became a scholarship holder of the Foundation for Polish Science within the PARENT-BRIDGE programme and then a master student in Laboratory. After defending her master's thesis, she was preparing her doctoral dissertation working under the supervision of prof. Bernard Juskowiak as the promoter and under my supervision as an auxiliary supervisor. For the implementation of her research, she obtained funding from the National Science Center. In connection with this research in 2016 an international group of scientists invited our research group to cooperate under the European grant Marie Curie Actions - IRSES 611488 "Metallacrowns-based innovative materials and supramolecular devices". Since of new DNA-interacting ligands and development of novel bioanalytical methodologies based on fluorescence is of prime concern to our research team, Dr Rajczak’s investigations were focused on the study of interactions of the new metallacrowns with DNA by the fluorescence spectroscopy using various direct and indirect methods, as well as UV-Vis absorption and circular dichroism spectroscopy, and also electrophoresis. Moreover, she developed an indirect analytical technique based on a quenching effect of the luminescence of Tb3+ - G-quadruplex complex. She has resolved several scientific tasks, published international papers, actively attended meetings and conferences and conducted laboratory classes with Masters and Bachelor students in the field of her expertise. Dr Rajczak is well-experienced researcher with good theoretical background in analytical chemistry, as well as she has successfully proved her ability in organic synthesis. She is skillful in many analytical techniques, such as molecular spectroscopy (including UV-Vis, luminescence, circular dichroism, IR and NMR), and chromatography. Mentioned experimental background and her good knowledge of physicochemical processes and biopolymers, may be a guarantee of her successful work in any chemical laboratory. Dr Rajczak proved to be a person who was diligently doing her job, prepared and continually training herself to solve the research problems she encountered. At the same time, she is a person with great communication skills, which made her perfect in our laboratory, but also in other laboratories during research internships (Spain, Italy, USA, Ukraine). Until now, I consider her to be one of my best students - organized, working well in the team, very kind and helpful. Finally, I am pleased to say that I know Dr Rajczak as a person of great ability and irreproachable character. She is diligent, loyal and trust-worthy in every way. It is my opinion that she would be a credit to any institution. Prof. AMU dr Agata Głuszyńska

Ewa did a six months internship, from February to July 31st 2015, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme. The research project done during this period covered the studies of the interaction of metallacrown compounds with various DNA structures, especially four-stranded G-quadruplexes. The main research tasks were focused on molecular absorption, circular dichroism and molecular fluorescence spectroscopies. Apart from her technical skills, I would like also to emphasize the personal aspects. She has shown to be an easygoing person, who quickly integrates into an already established group and who is always willing to help in whatever is needed. I would like to emphasize the commitment shown by her at all times in the development of the research tasks. Dr. Raimundo Gargallo
