I found Evelin’s portfolio while browsing and I feel would be a great fit for some Vis Dev work that we were planning to do at Rovio, her portfolio has a very rare blend of character, environments, vis dev and storytelling work. You would usually hire a character designer to do characters and a background person to do environments/layouts, but I had a good feeling about Evelin being able to do both. By the time she was hired the work was focused on environmental vis dev and since Evelin’s availability was limited, I assigned a single task, but it was what I consider to be an impossible task: it was a location design that had to work at 100% scale but also at 800% scale with no loss of detail or polish and where each room needed to have its own personality and tell its own story. Most artists would have given up and drop out of the contract or submit hurried or unfinished work. Evelin took her time and went above and beyond, and she delivered work that was above and beyond my expectations. Evelin is a very talented artist, she is open to feedback and a great collaborator, she is resilient and never gives up, she is kind but above all she is extremely intelligent, she will quickly pick up on your reference and collaborate real-time of designs and brainstorm ideas, working with her is fun and exciting!
