Eve Alpern came into the Community Affairs and Campus Engagement Office like the missing piece in a puzzle. Eve brought with her a desire to propel any person, organization, or project she encountered into achievement; I am one lucky recipient of Eve’s never-ending generosity. Eve is a conscientious, determined, and selfless individual who is an outstanding asset to everything she is involved in. Through personal, one-on-one mentoring, Eve single-handedly counsels all of her work-study employees through school, career, and life obstacles. Her dedication, positive attitude, and ability to lead calmly in any situation are constant examples of how an individual successfully manages and creates a dynamic working environment. Whether I am having trouble inspiring an employee to complete a project or I am struggling with the death of a close friend, I know I can always turn to Eve for solid advice. Her desire and ability to aid others rivals any I have seen previously.

Smart as a whip and experienced far beyond her years! The Theater Offensive experiences the pleasure of Eve’s impact in dozens of different ways every day: The beauty and comfort of our physical environment; increased size and financial stability; award-winning artistry and community activism; an entire generation of participants who view her as a mentor; and a happier workplace to name a few. With a mind that could break down the most tangled dream-project into a clear chain of deadlines, Eve was just the balance of outside-the-box creativity and nose-to-the-grindstone practicality that we were looking for. If she didn’t win folks over with her colorful style, Eve would wow them with her brilliant attention to detail. Eve implements programs and projects with tremendous creativity and a flair that exemplifies production as an art form. Sometimes I’ve even thought her curation and creation of the context for our work was just as artful as the terrific performances she chose. It has been an immense pleasure and honor to work with Eve and the impact of her amazing work will be felt in our organization well into the future. I believe that you and your colleagues would feel the same way. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
