I've worked with Evan numerous times over the years and was immediately impressed by his talent, drive, and customer focus. Even though his ability to lead and drive change in a broad cross-functional team is something I continue to admire, it is when he works with his customers in a consultative selling context that his passion and talent for helping them succeed genuinely shines. I would not hesitate to recommend Evan for any role which requires customer focus, drive, talent, and perseverance.

Recommendation for Evan Miller Evan is a person who understands how technology can benefit customer outcomes. Understanding the details of the technology enables him to understand how it can be used. Hie long experience working within and supporting enterprise customers enables him to understand how things are used to meeting business demands. Coupled with his understanding of business requirements and drivers, the need for business outcomes, he has a unique ability to assess current infrastructures or assist with the desire of new to help ensure required business outcomes are met. I personally learned a whole new approach to enterprise architecture support working with Evan. He is the one that taught me that infrastructure is just a tool without an understanding of the service being delivered or the operation readiness understanding necessary to support in production. Evan has an unparalleled ability to work collaborative with customers and peers alike to understand how to achieve the goals of the business. He is also one of the best enablers I’ve worked with. As a team player and leader, he brings out the best of those working with him which results in greater outcomes for all.

Rarely does one encounter someone who can readily tie together the skills of deep analysis, business & finance, process creation, and leadership in the way that Evan does. Not only does he accomplish this rare feat, but he merges these practices into a fluent and cohesive whole. Just as impressive is his ability to deeply consider and process feedback in an objective way, adding it to the strength of his effort rather than rejecting or diminishing that feedback as incompatible from his own ideas and work - as too many others do. Evan has most recently applied these skills toward helping organizations of all size build technically and financially efficient modern IT infrastructures and operations. When leading teams, Evan provides true mentor-ship, always taking the time to share his knowledge with is team and answer their questions. He will push others to expand and refine their own ideas, provide constructive feedback as they progress, and ensure that they get credit for their efforts. Sometimes this push can feel uncomfortable (as I can attest first hand) but Evan somehow new how to push the right amount, challenging comfort zones to release potential without pressing beyond limits. In a nutshell, Evan helps both organizations and teams maximize their true potential in ways that they may never have considered possible.

Lead the global executive-level presales consulting team that builds strategy and design for private, public, and hybrid cloud services for both for the IT organizations that seek to run as a service provider for their business or mission, and for-profit cloud service providers. This high performing team has performed hundreds of workshops all over the world for nearly every vertical and region in many of NetApp's largest and most strategic customers, helping them to transform IT service delivery into a cloud service provider model. The result for the customer is predictable service level delivery, lower cost and risk, and higher agility synonymous with "cloud".This unique methodology rapidly assesses the IT footprint, design service levels at all IT layers that are aligned to the requirements of the footprint, plan the performance of the infrastructure, identify cloud use cases for optimum cost and agility, manage storage QoS policy, and enable the roadmap to API-managed infrastructure with cloud automation. Also developed the patent-pending Adaptive QoS algorithm to manage storage QoS policies at scale across an enterprise to deliver storage service levels. The methodology compresses months of meetings and analysis into a one or two day workshop. It describes the future state such that follow-on planning and implementation can be performed to rapidly transition IT services into a cloud service provider model in as little as 30-90 days. NetApp built products using the principles of the NetApp Service Design methodology including the WFA SLO Pack, NetApp Service Level Manager, and Adaptive QoS in ONTAP 9. As the data authority, NetApp helps customers become data service providers for their business with executive level consulting to leverage the most cloud-enabled data management product and services portfolio in the world.
