As a Race Electrical Engineer, I worked with the entire Race Team to drive our 2022 solar car, Aevum over 4000 miles first in a test event around the perimeter of Michigan and then in an exhibition event across the North American continent from New York, New York to Los Angeles, California to push the boundaries of what is possible with solar power and raise awareness around it. During this I lead the installation and use of new set of sensors to characterize our car to a depth the team never had before. This data will inform the development of solar cars for years to come.

In this role, I coordinated the development of the PCBs powering the embedded systems of the team's 16th car, Aevum, while the world's supply chains were in shatters from COVID19 and the chip shortage. This required an adaptable and agile development process where systems that traditionally could be copies of each other had to use different components due to sever supply constraints. This required an adaptable and agile development process where systems that traditionally could be copies of each other had to use different components due to sever supply constraints. To support our manufacturing needs, I developed relationships with 3 new PCBs manufactures and strengthened relations with our existing manufacturer as wells as worked with a wide range of component manufactures and resellers. Doing this I and our operations team developed 4 new sponsorship agreements between the companies and the solar car team. In addition to coordinating our PCB manufacturing, I worked with the rest our electrical engineering team to design adaptable PCBs that could use multiple different chips to perform the same functionality so a supply shortage of one would not require redesigns. To help achieve this, I transitioned the teams collaboration and version control management for hardware from GitHub to Altium 365 allowing for component library standardization and simplified design review process. I also implemented an inventory tracking solution using AirTable's software to allow the electrical engineering team to know component inventory in real time.
