Led and assisted in riparian habitat restoration activities throughout Alberta. Prepared permitting and approval applications such as temporary field authorizations, request for reviews, SARA permits, and water act applications for restoration activities. Participated in the annual fish rescue from irrigation canals following fall drawdown. Conducted fisheries and riparian health assessments of waterbodies. Collected genetic samples from fish to aid in population assignment and the mapping of the distribution and abundance of pure strain native fishes. Compiled detailed reports of field data that was used in project prioritization and planning.

Under the direction of TUC biologists, I assisted with habitat restoration activities on water bodies throughout Alberta with a focus on native fish. This included bioengineering projects such as dense live willow staking, the installation of wattle fencing, rough and loose soil treatment, live pole drains, live silt fences, etc. I also assisted in fisheries assessments by, applying the practice of electrofishing, installing and monitoring of data loggers, and conducting fisheries habitat surveys. I also closely worked to assist and lead volunteers during TUC volunteer workdays. I helped to compile reports collect and analyze data from the field. I also worked to develop educational materials through signage, web and social media about TUC projects. Also, I helped with project planning and prioritization for the summer field season.
