Within the 4 years of Navy service, I worked as a corpsman in the clinic as well as in the field during combat training and during 2 combat deployments to the Middle East. While in CONUS and was responsible for the overall medical readiness of each individual marine and seaman in 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion. While serving with the marines in an OCONUS role, I was responsible for the marine platoon of 25 to 30 marines I was attached to. In many combat situations I was the sole medical professional treating injuries as well as triaging and coordinating movements of injured marines. During my times in Afghanistan I was attached to the battalion Commander's private "JUMP" platoon and I was awarded for my actions that resulted in marine lives being saved during combat. Show less
