As a PhD candidate at the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute, I conduct research on the past and future trends in the obesity prevalence and obesity-attributable mortality, and inequalities therein. Furthermore, I will also investigate the impact that policy might play on shaping these trends. I conduct this research under the supervision of Prof F. Janssen and Prof. A. E. Kunst as part of the VICI funded research project: “Future Longevity Inequalities” As a PhD candidate at the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute, I conduct research on the past and future trends in the obesity prevalence and obesity-attributable mortality, and inequalities therein. During my time at the Athena Institute, I supported a project that explored the quality of care of mental health services for children with autism in India. My primary responsibilities collecting and analysing quantitative and qualitative data using R and NVivo respectively. As a project assistant at the Red Cross Amsterdam, I have been involved in the strategic management of an existing intervention for vulnerable women. I have assisted the project manager with the development of a Theory of Change, logframe, and monitoring and evaluation plan. Secondly, I have contributed to drafting a project proposal for a novel intervention. Lastly, I provided operational assistance in order to deliver the intervention in a timely and effective manner.
