I currently work on understanding and developing Assembly of Neurons, a new model of computation and learning that is biologically plausible and geared towards higher-order reasoning and symbolic tasks. The goal is to establish them as a novel approach to understand biological learning and develop a learning system that is as powerful as the current Deep Learning techniques. Additionally, I analyze their properties like robustness and interpretability which are part of the shortcomings of DL through both theoretical and experimental approaches under a number of different data models and distributions, with an eye towards investigating their role in short term and long term memory. Presented two projects on Assembly Calculus at MIT Advances in the Quest to Understand Intelligence. Show less
