The Fragility, Crises and Conflicts Department manages the Peace and Resilience Fund, which finances humanitarian and development programmes in areas affected by complex and multifaceted crises, including in the Sahel, the Lake Chad Basin, the Central African Republic and in the Middle East. As part of the completion of my MSc, I worked with three fellow students on a consultancy project commissioned by AySA (Aguas y Saneamientos Argentinos), the second largest provider of drinking water and sanitation services in Latin America. The objective was to provide a guide on how to implement impact metrics for the evaluation of AySA's work in terms of social, economic, gender and environmental development. - Conducted desk research and reviewed the current literature on WASH and basic service delivery in LMICs - Led interviews with representatives from international organisations and development consultancies (including IDB, CEPAL, CAF, IWA and OPM) - Designed household surveys to conduct a preliminary needs assessment in low-income settlements and analysed the data collected - Developed a methodology guide for rigorous impact assessment and project evaluation - Produced a 10,000 word report and presented it to water utilities and experts at GWOPA/UN Habitat's 4th Global Congress Show less
