Eugene is a consummate professional who understands what is important and what is not. He has the perfect blend of operational execution and technical skills. His situational awareness is exceptional and he performs well on the flight deck during high stress testing. Simply put. One of the best.

Few people work as hard as Eugene. I was his first Lead when he came to Boeing to work as a Test Director on the 787-8 test program. Since then I’ve had the pleasure to mentor and work with Eugene on several other test programs as his Lead, as a colleague, and as a Test Director under his leadership. I’m always impressed by Eugene’s ability to work in a high stress environment and stay cool, confident, and friendly. He works competently and efficiently through issues. I like working with Eugene because, in addition to knowing the job will get done right, he uses humor to lighten the mood and make folks laugh. Eugene has the attributes and a team spirit for any leadership position and has my heartfelt recommendation.

As a Flight Test Operations Engineer (a.k.a. Test Director or TD), I am responsible for planning and executing safe and efficient flight and ground testing of aircraft and aircraft systems.Onboard the airplane, I am the focal for conducting the test and interface directly with the pilots in the flight deck while coordinating with the test engineers in the aft of the airplane to acquire required flight test data and successfully complete each mission.Off the airplane, I work with the pilots, analysis and division engineers to organize requirements and test conditions into an operationally executable test sequence. I lead the conduct of the pre-flight briefings to go over the test sequence with the test team, and the post-flight briefings to review the test results after completing a flight or ground test.As a Lead Flight Test Operations Engineer, I am also responsible for producing and maintaining both long range and short range schedules for flight test activities, and for communicating status and performance metrics to Program Leadership.
