I reported into Etienne for nearly 2 years when Parmalat was focusing on developing the business into Central, Eastern and Southern Africa. To this day, I have never met anyone that knows and understands Africa better than Etienne does. His enthusiasm and drive for developing business in African markets was second to none. I learnt a hell of a lot about doing business in Africa when I was working with Etienne, and that is something I will always appreciate. He was a fun guy to work with, and always put emphasis on focusing on the important things that would have a positive impact on the business objectives.

Creative go-gettter, self.starter, results-focused, ambitious, multi-lingual, multi-cultural, experienced in a wide range of FMCG industries, Etienne will certainly drive your business forward with enthusiasm and motivation. He comes with my highest recommendation.

I've worked with Etienne during almost 3 years in a developing and difficult market such as Angola. Etienne was always a very pro-active manager and always believing that everything was possible to do if we wanted and if there's an opportunity for it. He shows amazing skills to spot a business opportunity and his drive to achieve the objectives is incredible. Even when the decision process is complicated he makes sure that it's simplify and that the business gets an answer on the correct time, As a manager he is always supportive and open to listen different opinions and he's never afraid of admiting that he was wrong and go with a different opinion. A hands on person not afraid to do whatever he needs for the sake of the business.

As initiator of the project and one of the reference shareholders, I managed this start-up company which developed, manufactured and commercialised ultra-premium Swiss Made sheeshas and men bags under the brand Étienne LeRoy Lausanne aimed at the Middle Eastern, Indian and Eastern Europe markets and the affordable luxury sheeshas under the sweesha brand. I overlooked the design process, managed sourcing and supply chain, led the marketing and supported sales. We sold Étienne Le Roy sheeshas to wealthy epicureans around the world. For the sweesha brand, we dispatched our products from Argentina to Japan and from New Zealand to Canada. Our largest markets were in the GCC countries and in the EU. Due to regulatory changes and evolving trends in the smoking environment, it was decided to end production in 2019. Show less
