In this role, my main responsibilities are to organise and effectively run the bar and to provide excellent dinner service to guests by maintaining professionalism and company standards at all times. My friendly and approachable character was invaluable in this role and resulted in my promotion to head bartender once I graduated from university. By always being kind and supportive I developed mentoring skills when training and supervising new staff. Working in a fast-paced environment, I utilised my effective communication skills to ensure the efficient running of events. I worked in this role while completing my undergraduate degree which required excellent time management skills and an ability to adapt to a changing workload. Skills I intend to utilise in my career. For 3 months I worked as an outdoor instructor at a summer camp where my responsibilities were to deliver a range of engaging and educational activities for young children. Health and safety were paramount in this role, and I ensured protocol was followed at all times by continuously promoting best practices. Additionally, I gained experience in inter-company communication, as one of my responsibilities was to liaison with other sectors of the summer camp to ensure our area was working with the most up to date information. By being approachable and kind I aimed to act as a role model for the young children in my care, reducing conflict and facilitating the creation of positive relationships within the group. I know the skills gained from this experience will be highly beneficial in my next role. Show less
