This position really helped build me up as a leader. As the rank of Sgt, I had to lead multiple Marines with our garrison Helpdesk. This is where we would answer phones calls and complete tickets. This is where I leaned time management and also personnel management. I not only had to plan out ok how tickets got accomplished, but that also my Marines were well looked after. I needed to make sure they were accomplishing their tasks and were training up to the best of the ability. We needed to manage multiple assets also, and keep really good paperwork and records on where everything was kept. I’m super happy to of had this position, and I believe I was very successful at it. I’m glad to of ended my Marine Corps career in a position that built me up better. It prepared me for the civilian world.

    • Network Administrator
      • Jul 2017 - Dec 2020

As a Network Admin in the Marine Corps, my job was to set up an entire network in any environment. Whether it be in a combat environment or just a random field, we would set up an entire network. Connect to a satellite, with one of our satellites. The route fiber to a server tent. That tent would have servers, routers, switches, encryption devices and multiple assets. We would route cabeling all over the place to multiple different tents, providing internet to anyone that needed it. As a Marine you never just do your job, we had multiple other responsibilities that is too difficult to put on paper.

The first position I had were I truly had to learn how to communicate, especially with higher end individuals. I had to be as professional as possible. Learn how to make small talk, and also learn my craft to the best of my ability. Was a great position and I learned a lot. I got a open ring position as a line cook. It was my first position where I leaned how to work long 12 hours days. How to grind and introduce myself to long hard work days. My work ethic really developed here. This taught me how to prepare for days where I leave absolutely exhausted, but was well worth it. This job really helped me build my character and I’m happy I got the ability to work here. I dropped this position before I worked more as a waiter at the country club. Then soon after, joining the Marines.
