During my second to fourth year in college, I worked in Dr. Steven Suljak's Analytical Chemistry lab as a DeNardo Research Fellow. My project focused on designing an assay for genotoxin identification using capillary electrophoresis.

Community Facilitator

I worked as a Community Facilitator (equivalent to a Residential Assistant) in Campisi Hall on Santa Clara University's campus. I was a direct mentor for 40+ college students (both freshmen and sophomores) who lived on my floor throughout the first two quarters of the 2019-2020 school year before COVID-19. During this time I planned and hosted community events, mentored students, and took on leadership responsibilities. I also had weekly nights "on call": securing the building and responding to medical or situational emergencies. Show less

Lifeguard 1

For three summers (2018, 2019, 2020) I worked as an ocean lifeguard at Pacific Beach in San Diego, CA. The San Diego Lifeguard department is under the City of San Diego's Fire Rescue division. This is a highly demanding job that requires elite physical fitness and training. During this time I made over 50 water rescues per summer and assisted in many first responder medical aids as an Emergency Medical Technician. I was responsible for protecting the beach goers and representing the City of San Diego with courteous public interactions. In 2019 and 2020 I spent part of the summer working in a special assignment as a Junior Lifeguard Instructor. During this month-long program I led groups of 20 kids ranging from age 10 to 17. I taught the groups of youth ocean safety, basic first aid, and essential lifeguarding skills. Show less
