Ethan is the real deal. He came into ParentPlaybook with learning flutter independently with little real-world experience. When he joined the team, he jumped in with two feet and was keeping up with the other programmers many years his senior. He is kind and a joy to work with. He is a great problem-solver and can find creative solutions to whatever he is thrown. I always looked forward to the ideas he would come up with in Design Sprints. He is a fast learner and open to feedback. He is also willing to speak up and share what he learns and share it with the team. Any company would be lucky to have Ethan on their team.

I have had the privilege of working with Ethan in ParentPlaybook. He is extremely talented and one of the most innovative co-worker I have worked with. He is not only a highly skilled professional but also goes the extra mile to think outside the box and comes up with solutions that could benefit the company. In addition to his professional skills, he is a wonderful person to work with. He is incredibly creative and resourceful and always comes up with innovative solutions to any given problem. He has worked on many challenging features in the app like highlighting and saving highlights to playbooks in articles and comments, implemented chat features, improved existing code on multiple occasions and many more challenging implementations. I would highly recommend Ethan for any position that requires a highly skilled experienced professional. I am sure he will be one of the most valuable asset to any team.

As a full stack app developer at ParentPlaybook, I was part of a dynamic team that built the backend, frontend, and cloud functions to provide parents with essential resources, a supportive community, and a means of collaboration between partners. Throughout this fast-paced experience, I worked on the entire tech stack, gaining a deep understanding of our technologies and the Scrum workflow, and evolving from a junior developer to a leading full-stack engineer. Our team successfully launched a published application, where I had the opportunity to learn and achieve the ability to: ✔ Demonstrate proficiency in handling the entire technology stack, from modeling complex schemas to designing and implementing database rules. ✔ Utilize advanced query optimization techniques to efficiently retrieve and cache critical data, resulting in significant performance improvements. ✔ Design and develop a cutting-edge UI/UX that delivers a smooth and captivating user experience, showcasing my abilities in crafting a frontend that is dynamic and engaging. ✔ Spearhead the implementation of change listening streams to replace user interaction-dependent database fetches, enabling real-time data updates and streamlining the user experience, demonstrating my abilities in optimizing data retrieval and enhancing performance. ✔ Re-engineer asynchronous functions for faster run times, ensuring top-notch performance for mobile applications. ✔ Architect Google Cloud Functions to streamline client-side code, reducing app load times and improving overall performance. ✔ Successfully deployed multiple production releases to both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store using the industry-leading Codemagic CI/CD tool. ✔ Actively participate in design and product sprints, leveraging my creativity and technical background to generate ideas and shape the product roadmap for future development, showcasing my flexibility and commitment to all aspects of the software development lifecycle. While at Uni. I created a freemium-modeled marketplace application for other students where users were encouraged to sell their second-hand items to other verified students. During this experience, I dove deeper into how iOS applications are built and run, how states are maintained, and how to efficiently handle data creation, storage, and deletion. I was able to achieve a higher understanding of object-oriented programming through my time with Swift and learn today's best database practices with Google’s Firebase Service. I gained experience pushing beta builds to internal testers via TestFlight and have since acquired experience pushing to both Google's and Apple's app stores with a CI/CD flow. Show less
