Used High Performance Liquid Chromatography machine to analyze liquid samples of nut products to determine toxin levels, ensuring food products met FDA toxicity standards. Tested hundreds of samples per day, multitasking experimentation with data entry for all samples, using calculations to interpret vital data in a tight time-schedule for efficient result distribution. Used laboratory techniques to synthesize a neurotoxin (domoic acid), in vitro, to better understand synthetic organic methods and data interpretation. I analyzed this data to prepare lab-group presentations to update our research as well as to provide key findings relevant to our biochemical research and mission. I also learned how to use a software to analyze 3D models of proteins, learning to identify key amino acid residues responsible for biochemical reactions. This information was collected to help our understanding of protein mutagenesis, enabling our research of proving key residues responsible for mechanistic manipulation of neurotoxic molecules found in the Pacific Ocean (toxin produced by diatoms).
