Operating on 150+ annual environmental sampling and monitoring projects involving groundwater, soil, and soil vapor sampling. Laboratory Assistant in XRF Bead Lab

Received and processed geologic samples from researchers around the world to determine content and percentage of volatiles or mineral inclusions. Crushed and ground samples into a powder using a swingmill and then added a di-lithium tetraborate flux to create a fused bead in a 1000° C muffle oven. The final step was polishing the beads for analysis using diamond laps, after grinding and fusing the beads again to lower potential for inclusions.
