Photography Coordinator
-
Mar 2006 - Jan 2012
Zoom In is a not-for-profit school for photography, enabling both individuals and community groups to explore and engage with photography. Zoom In promotes the attainment of independent goals through creativity, education, inspiration, encouragement and support for individuals and community groups. Over the last 6 years, my duties as Photography Co-Ordinator within the organisation involved: • Managing the organisation’s Exhibition & Events Programme • Administrating an ongoing programme of short courses from beginners to advanced skills aimed at both film and digital photographers of all ages (reaching c.600 people annually) • Coordinating Zoom In’s active Outreach, Community & Education Programme for adults, young people and children (c.200 people annually). The programme targets marginalised, hard-to-reach groups and those needing a supportive environment in which to develop, using photography as a learning tool to address relevant issues and challenge participants to think and grow creatively. • Managing and implementing a Volunteer and Informal Training Programme providing experience, training and skill-share opportunities for c.100 people annually. I also co-coordinated Zoom In’s Young Work Placements Programme, providing experience, training, opportunities, career and training advice and support to 25 young people a year from local mainstream and special needs schools as well as organisations for young people not in education, employment or training. • Day to day operational duties: health and safety checks, risk assessments and ensuring the good running and security of the premises and its users, welcoming the public, phone enquiries, petty cash handling, and key holder. • Implementing and promoting the organisation’s policies: Data Protection Policy, Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Child Protection, Volunteers Policy, Privacy Policy, Grievance Procedure.
