I was elected as the secretary for the University of Kent's official fundraising society, Kent RaG, two consecutive years.As secretary, my responsibilities include:- creating and distributing engaging weekly term-time Newsletters in compliance with GDPR guidelines- responding to and directing emails and instant messages on social media- effective minute taking and follow-up on action points- managing the society’s calendar- supporting other committee members - carrying out the responsibilities of other committee members when they cannot undertake them (e.g. when ill or choosing to focus on university coursework)I was also in charge of our Empowerment Month campaign which required me to reach out to other societies and public figures for collaborations.Through this position I have gained and developed:- Confidence through speaking during meetings and sharing my ideas and opinions in a convincing and respectful manner- Excellent team working abilities- Outstanding organisational skills and reliability in order to balance this demanding role as well as my studies and keep the society running smoothly.

I am a writer for the University of Kent's student publication InQuire. My first article was a lifestyle piece on daily skincare basics and my second a critique of the British Government's newest 'obesity strategy.I joined InQuire as I have a keen interest in writing and journalism.Through this role, I have developed:- my intellectual curiosity through critical thinking and evaluation of evidence- reliability and time management by meeting deadlines- the ability to influence through my speech and writing- global and cultural awareness

Alongside my studies, I worked in K-Bar, a central bar and bistro on the Kent campus.My duties include front of house customer service and food and drinks preparation in line with health and safety regulations.Through this role I have developed:- effective communication while working as a team member in a fast-paced environment- cocktails mixology and barista skills- confidence and assertiveness when dealing with rowdy and intoxicated customers

As a seasonal sales assistant, I worked in Lush during their incredibly busy Christmas period. During my time there I won a prize as the top salesperson of specific box sets and Spa treatments, far outselling my colleagues.Working in this position, I developed:- An effective and friendly sales approach that made customers feel comfortable- The ability to work in a highly stressful and demanding environment while enhancing the quality of the customer experience- Experience in public speaking by giving entertaining and interactive product demonstrations to large groups in English and French in order to enhance customer relations and drive sales.
