•Thesis Research: "Assessment of Prevention Methods for Diseases Associated with Farm Fairs and Petting Zoos in the Island of Puerto Rico". The purpose of the study was to show that the lack of regulations for the contact between animals and people in farm fairs and petting zoos represent a public health risk. The assessment was done evaluating different farm fairs using a standard checklist prepared with the prevention methods other States use in their farm fairs, and by doing interviews to different farmers and personnel in charge of the fairs. •Assisted Animal Health Technicians and Veterinary Medical Officers in various projects and inspections such as: -TB Test Inspection for the Bovine Tuberculosis Surveillance Program. -Swine Sick Calls Inspections. -Testing potential vaccines for tick elimination in beef and dairy cattle. -Rotation with Food Safety and Inspection Service in a livestock slaughterhouse. •Research: "Characterization and differential expression of a ferritin protein from Fasciola hepatica". Research goal was to study the role of ferritins proteins such as protein rFh 4.26, with the purpose of determine if it could be used for immunodiagnostics of fascioliasis. -Analyzed samples of the protein using biotechnology techniques such as ELISA, Purification Analysis, and Western Blots. •Research: "Characterization and differential expression of a ferritin protein from Fasciola hepatica".
