I am working with the SuperCDMS team at SLAC to help understand detector physics and light-dark matter scattering interactions. I create and execute computational simulations using techniques in data science and the physics which governs these systems. For six weeks, I met peers from around the world and learned concepts in advanced physics, mathematics, astronomy, and computer science at a pace likened to “drinking water out of a fire hose”. Additionally, I attended lectures given by professional physicists, including a Nobel laureate. Myself and my two teammates made direct asteroid observations and wrote orbital determination software to update the orbits of asteroids.
