My biggest contribution to the Payroll division of Montana Dept. of Transportation was designing the entire manual. I documented each of our procedures, breaking them down step-by-step with screenshots and important notes for reminders. Payroll had previously used a three page overview as their "manual," resulting in confusion, mistakes, and numerous methods with which to complete any one task. On top of assisting with many duties around the office, I was the forms designer for the Motor Carrier Services division at the Montana Dept. of Transportation. Using Adobe LiveCycle, I created and published new forms as well as redesigned outdated forms. I coded many of these using JavaScript and FormCalc for flexibility and ease of use: repeating rows, automatic future date fill-in, price calculations, and much more. In collaboration with a marketing firm, we compiled our insights about the role of the library in a technological age and the importance of that role in our own community. We sought to evolve the traditional "shush, please" library into a place of exploration, learning, and creativity. To achieve this end, we underwent an enormous transformation, changing our name from Flathead County Library Systems to Imagine If Libraries, renovating the layout of our library, and brainstorming interactive projects for children, teens, and adults.
