Emily is a true team player. While she was not my direct supervisor, when I began my nearly 5 years at the American Diabetes Association, Emily provided me hands on training and guidance. She was a mentor and team player I could count on when I had questions, challenges or wanted to celebrate successes. She would take time out of her schedule to support me at events and meetings as I began in my role. Emily is always looking to improve and loves collaborating. Working on similar events, we would share best practices and experiences and Emily always loved hearing new ideas. Emily's focus on being a team player and looking to grow and improve is how she has continued to succeed in her role at the American Diabetes Association. Another key factor to this success is Emily's relationship building skills. She has a way of getting to know people and making them feel like her number 1 priority, no matter how many competing priorities she has; this is true if you are her colleague, constituent, corporate partner or volunteer. Emily is also a pleasure to work with. She has strong follow through, is very creative and passionate about her work. I would welcome the opportunity to work with Emily again and organization would be lucky to have her!

Emily was my manager at the American Diabetes Association (ADA). She is a talented development professional with extensive fundraising knowledge and superior interpersonal skills. Emily excels at effective relationship building; she strives to build a rapport with donors and to understand their passions. Emily has a proven track record of cultivating strong corporate relationships, effective volunteer and board management, and strategic growth of event participation and subsequent revenue. During my tenure at the ADA, Emily oversaw a team of three staff members and corresponding signature events that raised funds for the Association through corporate sponsorships and peer-to-peer fundraising. As a manager, Emily’s strengths include individualized attention and purposeful mentorship. She is in tune with her colleagues’ communication styles and learning preferences and provides constructive feedback. Emily is keen to share best practices and what she has learned from her own experiences, but she is a collaborative leader and welcomes the opportunity to learn from her employees.
