Bachelors thesis titled "Robust Design Optimization of Centrifugal Pump Impeller in Relation to Fatigue Life and Weld Length". The focal point of the bachelor's thesis was investigating the applicability of sensitivity analysis and robust design optimization (RDO) on a welded sheet metal impeller. This was achieved by metamodeling using Ansys as FEA solver and OptiSlang as experiment design and data analysis tool. The project identified regions of specific interest on the impeller, quantified the robustness of the current and optimized design and presented a method for applying RDO in the present and similar cases. Apart from the more data-science related topics, I also gained proficiency in the analysis of welded structures, how welds are modeled and how fatigue analysis of welded structures is performed.
