As part of a six-member working group within our department, we have implemented a variety of changes around the office to improve the sustainability of our workplace. This includes separating waste into new streams, negotiating to change the default office waste bin, and promoting the use of reusable crockery and cutlery in everyday and catering. This role involves identifying areas for improvement, developing a strategy for change, planning implementation, communicating with the entire department, and continuous evaluation of strategies. As an inaugural Diversity and Inclusion officer, I focused on addressing social and cultural gaps on campus by delivering student-run events. We held themed free lunches for 300+ postgraduate students that celebrated lunar new year, Reconciliation Week, and raised money for the White Ribbon Foundation. We also collaborated with staff to run wellbeing events such as International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT), RUOK? Day and Biggest Morning Tea, and a flagship "Diversity in STEM" night that was part of National Science Week. Show less

I was responsible for all marketing for student events and communications between Parkville Postgraduate Association (PPA) and its members. I established a twitter profile for PPA in order to engage with the wider postgraduate science community, and managed other social media profiles for PPA on instagram and facebook. To take advantage of the platforms, I created a series of short videos introducing the 2018 committee. In recognition of the important role of social media in marketing PPA and individual brands, I also organised a "social media in science" workshop for students. Show less

Team member to deliver a seminar on "Engaging with the Indigenous Community Health Forum". We invited a panel of expert speakers to give short talks followed by a Q&A session on how the health sector (pharmacists in particular) can better serve the Indigenous community. I facilitated the Q&A session.
