Group Portfolio Optimisation Manager

The Group Portfolio Design & Optimisation team provides strategic portfolio services to senior stakeholders across the Group. This includes insights and recommendations that support the Group Strategic Planning and Prioritisation Process to ensure the group portfolio is aligned with strategy, delivery capability, and provides an optimal return on investment.Key activities include:- Portfolio Strategy & Roadmap- Portfolio Prioritisation- Portfolio Governance- Scenario Planning & Analysis---------------------Key Achievements:- Developed insights as well as visual representations of the state of the property and people situation across the Sydney Metro area, assisting with decisions around team consolidation.- Prepared presentations regarding workforce insights and resource forecasts, which were presented to the CIO.- Shaped the new Enterprise Portfolio Services strategy and business plan for FY16.- Developed and refined a model for calculating the portfolio resource demand, which was widely used across IT and business Project Management Offices (PMO).- Pulled together insights across the PMO team on the impacts of an Executive Committee re-prioritisation of the group portfolio.- Collaborated with other parts of Enterprise Services to establish a set of metrics to be used for project (re)prioritisation.- Worked with HR to deliver an engaging Executive Manager forum for ~350 senior Enterprise Services (ES) leaders with the purpose of getting them engaged with the new ES strategy.- Drove thought leadership around the strategy (digitizing the workplace) and providing thoughts and driving discussion.- Assisted in delivering the globally recognised Blockchain conference in Sydney, where CBA was a primary sponsor.- Co-established a health and wellbeing community, driving improvements in the team culture.

- Attended seminars, exhibitions, panel discussions and events concerning banking, finance and IT to stay current with industry trends and thinking.- Successfully co-ordinated and collaborated with PwC (managers and partners) on an experiment to drive Open Innovation for CBA through fin-tech start-ups. Represented CBA across all engagements with vendors and start-up CEOs/founders.- Built relationships through various work with incubators/accelerators.- Completed the expert proficiency level of design thinking training and subsequently facilitated and coached a sound proficiency cohort.- Drove the adoption of Design Thinking across multiple initiatives, influencing business stakeholders to create desirable customer solutions. - Helped deliver Kaching, an Australian market leading mobile payments and banking app for iPhone and Android devices. - Planned, built, tested, employed, supported and improved a Project Vendor Cost tracker that allowed for flexible vendor cost tracking on IT projects (and programs).- Researched, improved and embedded the Business Deliverable Sign-Off process in my wider Project Delivery team.- Designed, built, rolled out and supported a finance tracker across project deliver teams. The finance tracker was built in Microsoft Excel and used Visual Basic. It was used on large programs as well as small projects.- Championed the introduction of a key productivity tool that supported the Bank’s move to activity based working.- On-boarded and ‘buddied’ new project officers.- Acted as a SME and reviewer of project methodology for the retail bank.
