Ennio Pasqualotto
I really appriciated to work together with Erwan during his internship in 2012 and 2013. He made major contributions mainly with regard to heat transfer modeling in the combustion chamber of industrial gas turbines where he produced a very useful suite of software tools covering both, radiative and convective heat transfer. Erwan is very initiative and at the same time forthcoming and open-minded. He is a highly skilled tool developer and applies advanced numerical and programming techniques (i.e. using the Python Numpy and Scipy libraries) to achieve extremely efficient solutions that are used by many engineers day by day.

⚡ Spark develops local production sources of hydrogen: our process uses non-thermal plasmas to produce carbon-neutral hydrogen fuel for the transport industry, with the potential to deploy refueling stations everywhere on the territory. Our technology is developed in the research laboratories of CentraleSupélec, Université Paris Saclay. Today, we are working on a pre-industrial demonstrator with the support of SATT Paris-Saclay and BPI France. We're looking for highly skilled engineers to join the team as we scale up! Show less

Ph.D

Dec 2014 - Mar 2019
The goal of my Ph.D is to design a clean and efficient energy storage solution. I use non-equilibrium atmospheric plasmas to create synthetic gas using carbon dioxide as a feedstock. Electrical power is effectively converted into chemical energy with a very high energy-to-mass ratio.Applied plasma physics require a combination of analytical skills in physical gas dynamics, applied quantum physics, electromagnetism, fast transient electronic, or heat transfer. It also made me build up my experimental skills in electro-chemical diagnostics, molecular spectroscopy and other optical techniques. Finally, it involves massive processing of experimental data, and rigourous statistical analysis of the results.A large part of my time is dedicated to building tools to optimise my workflow; and developing Python-based analysis routines for my Lab. Master thesis

May 2014 - Nov 2014
Within the Non-Equilibrium Plasma group at EM2C Laboratory, I characterised a new regim of room-temperature plasmas. I built the experimental setup and performed electrical measurement as well as advanced optical diagnostics. I then used those plasmas in a biodecontamination experiment to prove their potential as a new medical tool.

I am invited for six months at Stanford University to work in Mark Cappelli's Laboratory on a project complementary of my Ph.D at CentraleSupélec. We study the splitting of CO2 with nanosecond pulses in high pressure discharges, up to the supercritical state. I'm also involved in the development of a medical device based on the plasmas I studied in my Master thesis.
