Head of Debt Capital Markets & Private Debt
-
Jul 2019 - Dec 2022
DCM & Private Debt team leader. FIIG is a leading arranger of unrated bonds and syndicated loans for Australian corporates. Australian corporates have historically been reliant on sourcing debt capital from the bank market. To help unrated Australian companies diversify their borrowings, FIIG Debt Capital Markets has tailored a bond offering similar in structure to those issued by larger rated corporates in offshore markets but in $A. We also manage syndicates of private debt investors looking to invest in a range of high growth companies via debt structures but often with equity kickers. The FIIG DCM team are specialists in arranging rated and unrated, long tenor bond funding for Australian businesses in the sectors of Property, Infrastructure, Mid-Market Corporate and NBFI. FIIG Debt Capital Markets has arranged more than 70 bond issues raising over A$3 billion. These issues have been for a term of 4yrs+, fixed and floating rate, secured and unsecured for a diverse range of private and public companies including: Elanor Investors, Zagga, earlypay, Supercars, Zip, Stockwell, Evolve Education, Omni Bridgeway, VisionFund, Workpac, SCT, Armour Energy, Nextgen, Maurice Blackburn, Zenith Energy, Merredin Energy, Lucas Total Contract Solutions, Liberty Financial, NRW Holdings, StockCo AgriFinance, Capitol Health, IMF Bentham, Sunland Group, CML Group, IPG Logistics, G8 Education, SCT Logistics, Dicker Data and Plenary Group.

Director - Private Debt
-
May 2018 - Sep 2019
FIIG Private Debt arranges high yield debt solutions for corporate and property borrowers and delivers investment opportunities to institutional funds and professional investors. Supply of traditional debt funding in Australia has decreased in recent years as a consequence of heightened regulation and reduced bank lending appetite. Equally, there is unmet demand from institutional funds, family offices and professional investors for alternative asset classes which provide higher yields than ‘vanilla’ debt investments but deliver more stable returns than equity. FIIG Private Debt addresses the under-supply of debt capital, providing funding solutions for borrowers whilst offering wholesale investors access to high yield debt investments. Opportunities are typically offered as high yield loans syndicated to a select group of wholesale investors. FIIG Private Debt target returns of between 8 – 20% depending upon the specific counterparty and transaction risks and security and covenant package available.
