The David Lynch Foundation was created in 2005 to bring Transcendental Meditation to vulnerable, underserved populations suffering from toxic stress and trauma. DLF has provided scholarships and training over the last 12 years that have served more than 500,000 children and adults worldwide. As the Director of Institutional Giving, I am applying my expertise to expand support from foundation and government sources for DLF's three core programs: Quiet Time, an in-school program serving inner-city middle and high school students; Operation Warrior Wellness, serving veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress and their family members; and the Women’s Health Initiative, serving women and children dealing with domestic violence and sexual assault.

The Center for Communication connects media and communications students with leading professionals in order to enhance students' education, better prepare them for careers in these fields, and provide them with a deeper understanding of the ever-evolving media landscape. The Center serves over 4,500 students each year with more than 40 programs—panels, screenings, on-location seminars—that bring students face-to-face with some of the leading minds in media for invaluable insight, practical advice, and vital inspiration. The Center was founded in 1980 by the late Dr. Frank Stanton, longtime president of CBS.I am applying my expertise to help the Center increase its base of support, develop programming that enhances the Center's mission and attracts funding, and build a larger, even more engaged board.

Outward Bound changes lives through challenge and discovery. Using the wilderness as a classroom, Outward Bound expeditions provide students of all ages and backgrounds unparalleled opportunities for discovery, personal growth, self-reliance, teamwork, and compassion. Outward Bound also seeks innovative ways to apply its educational framework to address emerging social needs. Programs such as Grieving Teens and Outward Bound Veterans draw on the healing power of overcoming challenges in the natural world, helping participants build trust, confidence, resilience, and a sense of purpose. I am applying my expertise to raise funds for such national priorities as scholarship funding and Outward Bound Veterans.

The Paley Center for Media is the premier cultural institution dedicated to exploring the ever-deepening influence of media on our history, society, and culture. At locations in New York and Los Angeles, the Paley Center presents dozens of programs each year celebrating the craft behind great programming and examining trends and innovations in the media landscape. Its archive of 160,000+ television and radio programs documents the key historic figures, cultural icons, and shared media moments of the last century. Previously known as The Museum of Television & Radio. While at the Paley Center, I directed the identification and solicitation of unrestricted and project-specific support from foundation and government sources. I collaborated with program staff to develop new mission-driven initiatives, which proved compelling funding opportunities and strengthened Paley's service to its constituents. Working closely with senior management, I developed and executed the cultivation, solicitation, and engagement strategy for Board members. I obtained key capital support, including two federal Save America's Treasures preservation grants and the institution's first-ever capital grant from the City of New York, for $1.45 million. I partnered with the President and CEO to develop and execute large-scale special initiatives, including helping to curate and produce TEDWomen conferences and other multipart programs on women and the power of media.

The National Magazine of Texas. A winner of thirteen National Magazine Awards, Texas Monthly chronicles life in contemporary Texas, reporting on vital issues such as politics, the environment, industry, and education. The magazine is particularly known for astute political commentary and compelling longform narrative nonfiction. While at Texas Monthly, I served as an editor of its insightful Around the State and Dining Guide sections, curating, editing, and writing recommendations on music, the arts, restaurants, museums, and cultural events across the state. My dedicated feature in the Reporter section highlighted up-and-coming Texas talents, such as MLB pitcher Kerry Wood, actress Renee O'Connor, and Destiny's Child.
