Access Services Librarian
-
Sep 2019 - Present
Responsible for activities at the library circulation desk, including but not limited to textbook reserves, general material checkin and checkout, and interlibrary loan; supervising 5 part-time clerks and all student workers. I do some basic copy cataloging, and work with ExLibris' Alma platform. I also provide reference assistance and work with classes as needed - my primary liaison responsibilities are psychology and physical education, but I am a true generalist who is passionate about information literacy in any and all settings! Librarian

Aug 2008 - Sep 2019
I started at CCC as the Distance Services Librarian, a 4th librarian and team member on a staff of 8 full-time dedicated library employees. As I developed my own professional path and interests, and the organizational structure changed, I became the lead instruction librarian, student employment supervisor, circulation services and interlibrary loan manager, outreach and event planner, part-time archivist, and assessment coordinator...all at the same time. When I left the college in 2019, I was 1 of 2 librarians (the director being the other), with a total library staff of 4.5. I met great people, and learned so much about myself and profession in this position. Show less

Systems Librarian

Aug 2000 - Aug 2008
I began my career in the library profession as a copy cataloger/technical services librarian at Mercyhurst. My responsibilities expanded to include systems work, and when I left my position there I held primary responsibility for an Innovative Interfaces Millennium LSP hosted instance. I also initiated the Hammermill Library's entry into the PALCI EZBorrow resource sharing system, and worked at the library reference desk.
