As a field guide I facilitated therapeutic goals for at risk students, primarily adolescent girls ages 14-17, through high adventure activities including rock climbing, mountain biking, canyoneering, skiing, and backcountry navigation. In this position I was promoted to lead guide status, became a lead facilitator in mountain biking and backcountry navigation, and an assistant facilitator in rock climbing. Additional skills gained include logistics coordination, CBT/DBT techniques, meditation facilitation, crisis management, de-escalation, and therapy centered around female empowerment and self-reliance. While living in South Korea, I was an English teacher for students ages 5-12. Through this position I learned to communicate with and teach people with limited English abilities and created an encouraging atmosphere to promote self-confidence, self-efficacy and self-actualization among students. After 6 months I was given additional responsibilities including an increased class-load and editorial work for school materials. Hoop House/Outdoor Garden Manager

As a college student I collaborated to design and construct a hoop house and outdoor garden to satisfy the university’s growing sustainability program. This position also required me to research and implement organic pest control and growing techniques, coordinate volunteers, develop and direct educational workshops for the community, write grant proposals, and oversee the program’s social media page.
