  Established and manage the Sustainability & Environment Division of Public Works, which includes the following: Watershed Management Program: Implementation of all aspects of the Phase II MS4 Permit, including education outreach, illicit discharge inspections, water quality sampling, report writing. Significant accomplishments: establishing the Watershed Management Program, drafting the Guidance Document for Phase II MS4 Implementation, drafting Trash Implementation Plan. Solid Waste Program: Oversees implementation of organics diversion requirements of SB 1383, the City's annual household hazardous waste collection event and bi-weekly ABOP (Antifreeze, Batteries, Oil, Paint) collection. Significant accomplishments include negotiating the Solid Waste Handling Services Franchise Agreement. Resource Conservation (Energy) Program: Implementation of the Strategic Energy Plan, which serves as a roadmap for clean energy for the City of Carpinteria. Also serve as the City's staff liaison for Central Coast Community Energy. Significant accomplishments include drafting and adopting the Strategic Energy Plan, enrolling the City in Central Coast Community Energy, drafting Solar and Storage Request for Proposal.
